Summer’s here…

Hello again and welcome to our latest Carers Newsletter. We hope you’ve been able to enjoy the record-breaking June temperatures and fine weather – let’s hope it lasts a bit longer! 

Not that we’ve seen that much of it at the Carers Support Service as we continue unpacking and clearing up after our move from St Ambrose Cottage to Boscombe Connect. 

And whilst Jayne is taking a few weeks away from the office, Lorraine and Jackie have been learning all about the various services and support we provide, and they have been joined by Jeremy Streets from our Adult Social Care Contact Centre. Between them, they are focused on catching-up with your emails and phone messages so please bear with us as we do this. We are currently recruiting for an additional member of the team too, which means we hope to announce the start of our planned drop-in sessions in Christchurch and Poole in the very near future.

Meanwhile, we all know how the ongoing news about the cost-of-living, stubborn inflation and rising interest rates can be an added pressure for carers, so we thought it might be useful to share information about the support that is available across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. You’ll find information about this throughout the newsletter. 

And to lighten the mood, we also have news about a number of forthcoming events that we’re sure you will find interesting and enjoyable, so remember to act quickly when booking opens!
